The creature is a consuming blackness, inconceivable to even the most scientific minds. Void of compassion and thought, it floats undetected through the cosmos with one instinctual purpose in mind: destruction.

A brilliant comet falls victim to the oppressive, enveloping darkness. All that remains, is a desolate piece of space debris, still continuing on the path destiny has set in motion.

Only now, it harbors a tiny life-form more resilient than any the cognizant universe has ever seen. Safely tucked away, the alien rides its vessel, patiently waiting to be carried to a new home: a planet worthy of annihilation.

You know, I this drabble brings up the most important question; where did Jenova originate from? Where did 'her' story begin? How did 'she' come to be?

Yeah, that's what I was pondering... the prompt was "Home" and one by one, I went through the FF7 characters saying, "Nope, don't care about his home," and "Don't care what she does or thinks about her home," until I got to Jenova. I went: "Wait... Jenova's home?"

It's actually a pretty open-ended idea, too, since the only thing Square-Enix tells us is that she's an alien from space (the cosmos). I imagine her to be a rather terrifying organism, akin to an intelligent super bacteria. Imagine if germs were smart, humanity would likely lose to them. XD

With all that in mind, I'm honestly shocked that Jenova failed in her attempt to take over the FF7 world.

I know, they really didn't tell you anything about where this super-evil-alien-bitch came from, and I assume that was the point, the not knowing makes it more terrifying.

Who could win against an angsty blond dwarf? XD!
