[Poetry] Medusa...
May. 13th, 2009 05:23 pmJust felt like posting this poem I wrote some time ago. It's nothing special, but I like it. I happened to find it while looking for something in my writing folder and thought I'd share.
Medusa
Thick smoke tinted
with cherry-lime incense
flavors my shallow breath.
Velvet floors
caress my naked feet.
I'm drawn in;
My body is not my own.
Shimmering scales
catch my eye.
Snakes are sliding
in-between the shadows.
Somewhere behind
the hidden veil
and the mist,
she calls.
Beckoning to turn
my heart to stone.
Medusa
Thick smoke tinted
with cherry-lime incense
flavors my shallow breath.
Velvet floors
caress my naked feet.
I'm drawn in;
My body is not my own.
Shimmering scales
catch my eye.
Snakes are sliding
in-between the shadows.
Somewhere behind
the hidden veil
and the mist,
she calls.
Beckoning to turn
my heart to stone.

Date: 2009-05-14 02:12 am (UTC)Thanks again. ^_^ There's some symbolism present in the creepiness, but it might only be relevant for me personally. Sounds like you got the general feel I was going for.
I'm glad you were inspired. That makes me happy. :D
