[Drabble] Retrospect...

In retrospect, it probably wasn’t the best thing he could have said to the old man. After spending over three hours following their quarry around town, Reno had been eager to get the job over with. The guy hadn't looked like a threat, standing there, head bowed, eyes reverently staring at a time-worn photograph that had clearly seen better days.

“It is, in fact, my mother,” he said, glancing up from the photo, before letting it drift to the floor.

The sound of Rude's gun being cocked made Reno pause, but only for a moment.

"Do it," Reno said.

XD man maybe it's too freakin' early (6 am), but I had to read that like three times-- with the third time reading as a psuedo english major just to figure out what's going on. XD LOL

The drabble's kind of sad. D: But I like it :3

I'm glad you could figure it out. A long time ago, one of my favorite English professors told me: "People aren't stupid, even if they pretend to be. You don't have to spell out every single little detail for them -- they'll get it, and appreciate the fact you let them figure it out."

I don't know if I do a good job at that or not, but what I do know, is it's interesting to me to ponder what Reno might have just said (that in retrospect, might not have been the best thing to say). ^_^

But a Turk still completes his job even if there's the tiniest bit of remorse involved.

Indeed. It's fun for me to try to imagine what the Turks actually do on a day to day basis. Sure, some days are probably pretty mundane, but most of the rest of them are like this one.

Makes me wonder who the old man was, and what was the nature of his transgression that brought the Turks to his door... Nicely done.
