One chance, that's all I've got: no do-overs. If I fail, and my target is still walking around, well, I might as well forget that raise I was hoping for. Hell, I might not even have a job to go back to. Maybe not even a life to keep living. I guess you could say that failure isn't really an option.
I wait for the signal, as the predetermined time draws near. Elena will be parting the curtains, and then I'll have a clear shot. I'll just pretend that I don't know him; then I'll be sure not to miss.
